Monday Moods

I’ve had a busy weekend so Monday came too soon, you ever feel that you somehow missed your weekend?  Today I wanted to rewind back to Sunday and opted for something relaxed, soft and feminine.

 fullcardi.jpg

Yesterday I found this fab little sweater at KUROTSUBAKI, it moves so sweetly with it’s four prim attachments and drapes so softly making it soothing to the eye which is what I needed after a fractious day at work.

These gloves were a freebie find at IZUMYA a month or so ago, you can find some cute freebies there.  The hair I found at The Abyss which I discovered through reading Sophia Gray’s blog on some boots she bought there.  I love the texturing of this hair, it works so well in black.  I’ve been finding a lot of black hair at the moment seems to lose it’s definition and look like a black blob or worse, look like it belongs to a Lego person, so I appreciate this one a lot^^

halfcardi.jpg

The jewellery doesn’t co-ordinate with the colours of the outfit but it gives a nice soft contrast and sometimes if you colour match everything an outfit can look too contrived, but that’s just my stupid opinion lol and prolly an excuse not to have tried harder :P

Wake me up before you go go…..

Heheheh hands up who remembers that old Wham! classic?  This T-shirt from Emery is based on the Katherine Hamnett T-shirts which Wham adopted, on the success of these she later created Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s Relax t-shirts.  Katherine has revived the Choose Life t’s and they are on sale again today….yay!

fullcl1.jpg

Now I didn’t want to mention the following nasty business as this is not a political blog, but, before I get my ass kicked all over SL, this t-shirt, despite what some people think, is notfor the Pro-Life cause.  It was created for a Buddhist exhibition.  The anti-abortion lobby tried to appropriate the use of the slogan but Katherine Hamnett has since reclaimed it.

If you would like to know Katherine’s real meaning for Choose Life, you can read it from her site here…   http://www.katharinehamnett.com/Protest-and-Survive/Choose-Life-T-Shirt//

OK so back to the goods^^  I had a devil of a job with the prim on this leather skirt by SWA.  Hopefully, it’s not too obvious that I’d stand a better chance of fixing a hole in my roof than a prim attachment lol.  I wore Armidi’s metallic tights in white as I can’t bring myself to go bare legged in winter, even in SL :P

uppercl2.jpg

The chunky chain necklace is so right for this outfit, you could buy these in solid colours and my friends and I would all be swapping, depending on our outfits lol.  I wore some funky orange earrings, bangles and shoes to tie up with the orange in the necklace and to help break up the black and white.

Twilight Tango

I bought this dress a week or so ago and have been meaning to blog it ever since but I’ve had severe lag lately and even trying to rez an outfit has been a nightmare.  I’ve been lucky today and even managed this, a second post……go me!

fulldress2.jpg

This dress is, in a word marvelous, the skirt is bang up to the minute in style and not unlike !_Ce_Cubic effect’s Tiered Skirt, but it is actually a skirt with the prims attaching to the spine and hips as opposed to the prims being attached to the legs.

halfdress3.jpg

I adore the subtle sparkles scattered in swathes over the top half of the dress, it really stops the dress from  looking one dimensional and adds a special touch.  One word of warning though, those who dislike showing the cracks of their arses should avoid this one.  I usually don’t get my cheeks out for anyone but this dress is class, pure and simple, therefore, my arse is class too ;p

Snug in Snakeskin

I stopped by Muism today and the first thing I spotted was this divine snakeskin jacket, It’s so beautiful I nearly peed myself.  Thankfully no need for the Tenor Lady just yet, my bladder control is to be commended.

snakefull2.jpg

The jacket comes with a hoodie option too, and it looks great but I wanted a more dressy feel to it so left the hood off.  I teamed the jacket with a gold tunic and leggings from Armidi to add some richness.  Keeping to the reptillian theme I am wearing Armidi’s brown crocodile Vidalia Pumps.

snakeupper1.jpg

The accessories are the Boho set from Earthtones, the sunglasses are Armidi’s Fi Umo glasses.

This hair is just the cutest, I love it to bits, I got it today as a freebie (dollarbie) from ETD and it is aptly named “Lovely”.

The Bold & the Beautiful….

I’ve been lurking in LeeZu Baxters for a day or two now, my eye kept being drawn to the Revolution Mo outfit.  It’s striking that’s for sure and bold to boot.  I wasn’t sure if I wanted it as at first, to me, it was a confusing piece.  Then yesterday eureeka -I got it (I bought it too ;p), I understood Leezu’s outfit and the more I played, the more I loved it.

 fullcoat3.jpg

This daring use of colour and the abstract quilting patterns of the coat make it so unique, abstract art, bold patterns and colour is gonna be big this year.  I chose to team the coat with a pair of red ankle boots, black skinny jeans and a red shirt.  What is great about the coat is you can pick any of the many colours and use that as your accent colour, it’s so diverse.

This outfit is one of the other combinations, and at first it kinda just hits you with a WTH, but the more you look, the more it grows on you, well for me it did lol.  It’s edgy and fun and the transparent skirt is awesome.  I had to keep accessories down to a minimum here as the dress really doesn’t need a lot.  I wore red earrings and bronze wedge heels to co-ordinate.

Ode to Lauren Bacall

This look really made me think of the old 40’s film stars.  Starlets bedecked in tailored trousers inspired by Coco Chanel along with sweaters and Coco’s trademark multiple strands of pearls.  Lauren was one of the stars that came to mind, she would have looked good in a bin bag and I can picture her in an outfit similar to this lol.   Pity Lauren was a blonde, and as much as I admire her, I’ve been raven haired from my humble beginnings in SL & no way in hell will you see me in blonde hair^^

lauren1.jpg

I bought this cardigan from Ce_Cubic a while ago, I haven’t really managed to find anything to team it with until today.  Today was a good day, I found these lounge pants at Mocca for L$50.  I was already wearing the cardigan and the combination gave me my inspiration for this post.

upper1.jpg

Once I added the black pearls from Muse and the skin from Pelle Figura, I had my outfit, I just needed a clutch bag to finish it.

bag.jpg

Looove this bag, it’s from DEJAVU & comes in another four colours too which I will be going back for no doubt ;p

Mirror in the bathroom……….

I’ve borrowed my sister in law’s USB record deck which copies all your old vinyl records down to cd format (yeah, some of you don’t remember vinyl – jeesh I’m getting old).  I was playing my old Madness, Specials, The Jam & The Beat records and it gave me an idea for an updated Two-Tone look – aahh the good old days……..

mirrorfull1.jpg

Madness are still playing live and are as good as ever, and Suggs still has those good looks!  The only thing missing from the outfit are braces (suspenders I think you call them in the good ole US of A) and a porkpie hat, but as this is a modern twist and sometimes over-accessorising can kill an outfit, I left them out.  I would have liked to be able to afford a pair of old Ray-Ban style sunglasses (I’m pretty sure Artilleri makes something similar) but my budget is low this week lol.  The shirt is by THREADBARE and is a guy’s shirt, it has a nice Oxford Weave to it and was a bargain at L$60.  The tie was L$30 and I got one in black too as it was too good a buy to miss.

 mirrorhalf1.jpg

The uber cute (and free) dice earrings were made by someone called Sarabi Spatula, they didn’t come with a landmark, so, I searched for Sarabi and he/she has since left SL.  I would love to tell you where they are from, but I have no idea?  Anybody out there know?

A short post from me today but I want to get back to the record deck :)

*Saiko skips off singing………… Shall I take you to a restaurant that’s got glass tables, you can watch yourself – while you are eating

But baby it’s cold outside…..

It’s been minus 2 today, the frost is still on the ground outside and I’m hungover.  Feeling like hell on legs always makes me want to dress in something soft and comforting, this mini sweater-dress from Nyte’N’Day was perfect.  It’s a shame that in real life, I’m still in my jim-jams :p

full8.jpg

I toyed with having bare legs, but it’s too cold and goosebumps are a terrible look, a look I’d rather not share.  G.L.A.M.’s Tintable Metallic Tights came to the rescue and I teamed them with boots from Slink

 kneeling1.jpg

The skin is by Kryptonia Paperdoll at Splashing Doll and was a freebie but Kryptonia informed me that this particular skin (Mailin) isn’t free anymore, However it only costs L$275!  While you are there check out some of the other shops, there is also a freebie shop.  I couldn’t check it out as the grid hates me today, tp’s ended in me crashing and when I relogged, my prims wouldn’t rez, maps wouldn’t work and yada yada yada.

Hot Pink Saturday

Thank my lucky stars it’s Saturday, it’s been a long week.  I don’t know about you girls but this gal is ready to let her hair down.  As I promised yesterday, here is more on Kal Rau’s clothing at KR.  I don’t usually blog a whole outfit, I like to mix and match my clothes but how could I resist this t-shirt and the bermuda pants together? I didn’t have time to do a close up of these pants, but they are so pretty, and the cuff details are stunning.

blogfull6.jpg

I loved the hot pink colours in this black T-shirt, and to bring them out, I paired it with pink accessories and a new skin curtesy of Fleur.  I was thrilled to get a free skin at Fleur, simply by being a member of Fleur Updates.  For those of you who don’t know, join the group and look for the latest notice, it will give you details of a free shop card worth L$500 to spend at Fleur…. YAAAY!  This offer will only last a week, so get going!

blog6half.jpg

The belt is from Fancy Shmancy.  You may notice I have problems with prim belts O.o  I always forget to make a shape for when I wear tight skirts, so my hips are constantly being resized, this makes belt wearing a hideous nightmare.

Sophisticate

Ever have one of those Sophia Loren days?  OK, OK so I’m pretty much flat chested and my Brit accent is a far cry from the sultry tones of our Sophia but hey, my mic is broken, whose to know?

 blog5newfull.jpg

The coat (as I’m sure you all know) is by Muism, I totally want one in RL, but in SL with my constantly moving AO it gave revealing & unflattering glances of my bum, and well, it didn’t look good.  However, I can put up with that, and if it really gets you down,  a workaround is coming up…… read the next page to see how.

blog5face2.jpg

These gorgeous glasses are from KR by Kal Rau, I want to blog about him in my next post, all I can say is, I look forward to seeing more by him, right now he designs mainly for men but has a few women’s pieces too.  Kal also happens to be very friendly and approachable and that in itself is a plus in my book.  Psssst… Kal more womens clothes…. please?  :P
