Two sides of the same coin

I’m so busy with a few things in both SL and RL at the moment, so will keep this post short.  I know I usually blah on inanely but luckily for you, I don’t have the time:P  My post today is all about Emery’s Autumn Ashes dress – same dress, two different looks.

Look1

emhalfhyde13.jpg

I’ve kept the first look relatively casual by pairing the dress with white jeans and these goregous pumps by Armidi.  To be honest this could very easily double up as an evening look too^^

Look2

Paired with nothing but these awesome boots from Naima, short and very smexy hair by Philotic Energy and some silver funky accessories, this look screams look at meeee.  It’s not an outfit for the faint hearted and if I saw someone flaunting it in this get-up, I’m sure she would be in IM hell from unnatached guys lol.  Wear at own risk :P

The Leader of the Pack…vrrrm vrrrm

LOL ok ok, it’s cheesy of me but doesn’t this pic make you think of that song?  I really hated that song when I was little and it makes me cringe even now but it was too good not to use as the title of this post:P  There is also something a little “Grease2” about these pics which although I loathed that film, the sheer nostalgia is making me grin.  I wonder if Michelle Pheiffer regrets making that film?  Let’s hope so :D

Anyway, I really wanted to show you Emery’s cool Dolly Rocker leather jacket which I paired with black skinny jeans & a white t-shirt (again, one of Emery’s which you can  wear long on the jacket or undies layer).

lophalfbw3.jpg

Heheh this jacket is just too cool for school daddyo :P  Your neck gets cold on a bike so I also wore this scarf by Izumiya.  It was part of a set of five but I modified this one by adding a zebra texture to co-ordinate with the black and white theme.  Diamonde’s Funky (tintable) Earrings, a black & white chequered bangle and Caroline’s Blanc Square Diamond Ring finish the look.

Step into spring

It’s official, spring is just around the corner and with the new spring collections appearing all over the grid, it felt right to give you this little offering from KR.  This cute halter has been in Kal’s shop (and in my inventory) for a while now but as it’s been so damned cold I haven’t had the heart to wear it yet.

krfull6.jpg

I’m wearing the top with the flexi prim attachment for a fuller look but as you can see from the pic below, the halter looks just as good, if not better without it.  I didn’t have time to take a close-up of the textures or the back where there is a cute tie at the neck but believe me, it looks awesome and I can see myself wearing this a lot!

krful4.jpg

I teamed the top with G.L.A.M.’s Denim White Wash capris and Armidi’s Vidalia Pumps, I so wanted to wear Armidi’s new spring shoes but alas, my budget is low this month, so I have to wait (pout).

The Bold & the Beautiful….

I’ve been lurking in LeeZu Baxters for a day or two now, my eye kept being drawn to the Revolution Mo outfit.  It’s striking that’s for sure and bold to boot.  I wasn’t sure if I wanted it as at first, to me, it was a confusing piece.  Then yesterday eureeka -I got it (I bought it too ;p), I understood Leezu’s outfit and the more I played, the more I loved it.

 fullcoat3.jpg

This daring use of colour and the abstract quilting patterns of the coat make it so unique, abstract art, bold patterns and colour is gonna be big this year.  I chose to team the coat with a pair of red ankle boots, black skinny jeans and a red shirt.  What is great about the coat is you can pick any of the many colours and use that as your accent colour, it’s so diverse.

This outfit is one of the other combinations, and at first it kinda just hits you with a WTH, but the more you look, the more it grows on you, well for me it did lol.  It’s edgy and fun and the transparent skirt is awesome.  I had to keep accessories down to a minimum here as the dress really doesn’t need a lot.  I wore red earrings and bronze wedge heels to co-ordinate.

Mirror in the bathroom……….

I’ve borrowed my sister in law’s USB record deck which copies all your old vinyl records down to cd format (yeah, some of you don’t remember vinyl – jeesh I’m getting old).  I was playing my old Madness, Specials, The Jam & The Beat records and it gave me an idea for an updated Two-Tone look – aahh the good old days……..

mirrorfull1.jpg

Madness are still playing live and are as good as ever, and Suggs still has those good looks!  The only thing missing from the outfit are braces (suspenders I think you call them in the good ole US of A) and a porkpie hat, but as this is a modern twist and sometimes over-accessorising can kill an outfit, I left them out.  I would have liked to be able to afford a pair of old Ray-Ban style sunglasses (I’m pretty sure Artilleri makes something similar) but my budget is low this week lol.  The shirt is by THREADBARE and is a guy’s shirt, it has a nice Oxford Weave to it and was a bargain at L$60.  The tie was L$30 and I got one in black too as it was too good a buy to miss.

 mirrorhalf1.jpg

The uber cute (and free) dice earrings were made by someone called Sarabi Spatula, they didn’t come with a landmark, so, I searched for Sarabi and he/she has since left SL.  I would love to tell you where they are from, but I have no idea?  Anybody out there know?

A short post from me today but I want to get back to the record deck :)

*Saiko skips off singing………… Shall I take you to a restaurant that’s got glass tables, you can watch yourself – while you are eating

Hot Pink Saturday

Thank my lucky stars it’s Saturday, it’s been a long week.  I don’t know about you girls but this gal is ready to let her hair down.  As I promised yesterday, here is more on Kal Rau’s clothing at KR.  I don’t usually blog a whole outfit, I like to mix and match my clothes but how could I resist this t-shirt and the bermuda pants together? I didn’t have time to do a close up of these pants, but they are so pretty, and the cuff details are stunning.

blogfull6.jpg

I loved the hot pink colours in this black T-shirt, and to bring them out, I paired it with pink accessories and a new skin curtesy of Fleur.  I was thrilled to get a free skin at Fleur, simply by being a member of Fleur Updates.  For those of you who don’t know, join the group and look for the latest notice, it will give you details of a free shop card worth L$500 to spend at Fleur…. YAAAY!  This offer will only last a week, so get going!

The belt is from Fancy Shmancy.  You may notice I have problems with prim belts O.o  I always forget to make a shape for when I wear tight skirts, so my hips are constantly being resized, this makes belt wearing a hideous nightmare.

Keeping it simple

Casual jeans and a simple white shirt are classic items almost everyone has in their wardrobe, tie your hair back, throw on your sunglasses and you’re good to go.

blog4fullshot1.jpg

As promised, more from TRICOLORE, these cute boots are so cheap and what’s more, you get the jeans with sculptie boot-cut attachments included.  I adore these jeans and wear them far more than I should.  The hand drawn wrinkling around the knees is superb and they even have a baggy looking bum so they look well worn.

blog4c.jpg

A note about the boots; they do look a little big and you can’t edit them, they look great with the jeans as the boot-cut sculpties disguise the size of them somewhat.  However, I’m struggling to find something else to wear these boots with.  On the upside, the jeans, the jeans!!  Oh, and you also get a free belt but I opted for one by Fancy Schmancy.

Boho vs Rock

I saw this beautiful sculptie leather jacket at !_Ce_Cubic effect a little while ago and today I finally bought it.  I couldn’t wait to put it on but when it came to adjusting it I panicked lol.  I’m nervous of editing prims at the best of times and sculpties put the fear in me :P  Needless to say, I contacted Mirai Jun the creator and politely explained that I was a numpty and she (actually, had to come back and edit this as just found out that Mirai is a guy, my bad) kindly offered to edit it for me, what a sweetheart!

fullfront.jpg

I love the texturing, my pictures do not do it justice believe me, go and take a look for yourselves, you won’t be sorry and it’s excellent value for money.
